INEC Declares Kogi Governorship Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, returning officer for Kogi State governorship poll, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, has declared the election inconclusive. This is because the margin of victory for the APC candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, is less than the cancelled votes.

From what Infomini's Blog gathered, APC's Abubakar Audu has 240,867 votes and PDP's Idris Wada has 199,514 votes. The difference between their votes is 41,313. But canceled votes is 49,953.

Consequently, the INEC returning officer, Prof. Kucha, has declared that a rerun in the affected areas will be re-scheduled by the INEC leadership in accordance with the electoral law.
