APC Governorship Candidate In Kogi, Prince Audu, Is Dead (Full Details+His Last Photos)

OMG! The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu is dead. Audu was said to have died several hours before INEC declared that his victory at the elections is inconclusive. Infomini's Blog has confirmed that he is indeed gone.

From what Infomini's Blog has observed, anyone who had taken his time to look Prince Abubakar Audu closely on Saturday while he arrived his pooling unit to cast his vote would notice he is very sick.

According to family sources, Prince Audu started vomiting blood on Friday night in what those close to him described as a bizarre deterioration in his health condition. One of the family sources described the late politician as hypertensive.
A close family member who witnessed Audu’s deterioration, said "He started vomiting blood after he returned from Lokoja." See more details and his last photos:

The family source added that Audu woke up very tired on Saturday, the day of the governorship election. He said doctors had given the former governor blood transfusion which gave him enough energy to go to the polling booth to vote in his hometown, Ogbonicha.

According to the source, Audu returned to his home on Saturday and began vomiting again. "After a while he became unconscious and, to the surprise of man, he gave up around 5a.m. on Sunday morning," said the family source, who requested anonymity.

The family's timeline of Audu's death indicated that he passed on before officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) started collation and announcement of results.

INEC returning officer for the election, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, has said no party could be declared the winner yet since the numbers of cancelled votes was more than the difference between the first placed Prince Audu of APC and the second placed Governor Idris Wada of PDP.

He would have been declared winner of the election if not for the difference in the number of cancelled votes and his margin, but now that he has departed this world under a strange circumstance, some are saying that the APC victory will be transfered to his deputy, while others are saying the PDP candidate who is second should benefit from the unfortunate turn of even. We will know the position of the law soon.

A source at INEC told SR that it is possible electoral officials knew of Audu’s death before they announced the results of his election inconclusive on Sunday.

Prince Abubakar Audu, was the first Executive Governor of Kogi State and was born on 27 October 1947, to the family of his Royal Highness, the late Pa Audu Oyidi, Orego Atta of Igala Land and the paramount ruler of Ogbonicha-Alloma in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

He started his education at the then N.A. Junior Primary School, Alloma, and later N.A Senior School Ankpa, from where he proceeded to Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha. He later transferred to the Jos Commercial College where he obtained both the GCE O and A level. His people say he's the best governor they've had so far.

  1. I will fault the APC leadership for his death. Or are they saying that they don't know about his health condition.
