Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother has revealed that she considered having an abortion when she was pregnant with him, in a new documentary film 'Ronaldo', which charts the Real Madrid star’s rise from a very humble beginnings to the summit of world football.



Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, opened up in the film, explaining how she thought about having an abortion when she found out she was pregnant. Her words:

“He was a child I wanted to abort. We laugh about it now and he says ‘now I am helping you all'.”

From the makers of the acclaimed Senna documentary about the life of the late Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, the film follows a year in the life of the global superstar - Ronaldo.
